About

Shana – Home Baker

CARTWILLS began during quarantine.  I do not like to cook. My husband is the cook in our family.  He is one of the best home cooks I know.  However, I always liked to bake and only used box cakes and cookie mixes.  During quarantine, I decided to try my hand at making homemade cakes and icing.  My kids gave me a stand mixer for Christmas and the rest is history.  I started my baking journey dabbling in homemade cakes, cupcakes, truffles, and cake pops.

I pride myself in making my sweet treats look beautiful and most importantly taste as good as they look. I hated buying cakes from bakers and the cakes were beautiful but didn’t taste that great.  I decided that I would do both – have treats that taste great and look beautiful.

I bake my sweet creations out of my guest house kitchen. It has been jokingly called my she-shed. I truly enjoy every minute of being in the kitchen.  My hobby has become a passion. Seeing my vision of beautiful sweet treats come to life truly gets my adrenaline going. I do have a Tennessee business license and follow the Tennessee Domestic Kitchen law.

The name CARTWILLS comes from my sons.  My oldest is named William and my youngest is named Carter… thus, CARTWILLS.  Every so often I convince them to bake with me.  I have to say that they are pretty good bakers, as well.

Contact me and let me create the perfect sweet treat for you for any occasion.
